The District Attorney's Office is interested in individuals who want to work, or volunteer, in the criminal justice field. The Santa Cruz District Attorney's office offers the most extensive trial training of any District Attorney's Office in the State of California. All new Santa Cruz Assistant Attorneys are assigned a senior attorney to act as their mentor helping them become a successful prosecutor.  The Santa Cruz District Attorney's office is a supportive, friendly environment where people enjoy sharing in each other's successes.

JOB OPENINGS IN THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE:

The Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office is actively seeking experienced prosecutors with extensive trial experience. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Sexual Assault and Homicide cases is highly desirable.

We also continually welcome applications for entry level attorney positions. Please include your California State Bar number in the license section of the application.

NOTE: Law school graduates who have taken the California State Bar Exam and have not yet received their results may still participate in a recruitment process for Attorney I. If you pass the County examinations, your name will be placed in an “inactive” status (not eligible for consideration for employment) until the County receives written confirmation that you have passed the California State Bar Exam.
